Claude Video Generation
Claude does not output video files by itself, so the practical way to get a video from Claude is to let it write the prompt and generate the clip with a video model such as the AIMCP generator below.
Claude is strong at scene descriptions, shot lists and code for HTML, CSS or SVG animations. An actual MP4 needs a video generation model. Soon you will paste Claude’s prompt into the AIMCP web generator, which opens in Early access; a connector that lets Claude call AIMCP directly is in Early access and not publicly available yet.
What Claude can and cannot do with video
Claude works with text and code. That covers most of the thinking behind a video, but not the rendering.
- Can: write scripts, storyboards, shot lists and detailed video prompts.
- Can: build simple motion with HTML, CSS, SVG or canvas code that plays in a browser.
- Cannot: render a photorealistic or cinematic video file on its own.
- Needs a tool: real AI video comes from a video model reached through a connector or tool, which is what AIMCP is building.

Claude video generation FAQ
Can Claude make videos directly?
+
No. Claude does not output video files on its own. It writes text and code, so it can draft scripts, shot lists and prompts, or build simple animations in HTML, CSS or SVG that play in a browser. Real video files come from a video generation model reached through a connector or tool, which is what AIMCP is building.
How will I make a video with Claude and AIMCP?
+
Ask Claude for a video prompt that covers subject, action, camera movement, lighting and length. Once the AIMCP generator on this page opens, paste it in, pick a model and generate. This will work without any connector.
Is the AIMCP connector for Claude available now?
+
Not yet. The connector is in Early access and not publicly available. You can join Early access by email, and the AIMCP web generator for videos opens soon.
Which video models does AIMCP use?
+
The web generator offers the video models listed on the AIMCP homepage, from fast draft models to higher-quality ones. The connector is planned to expose the same models.
How much does AI video generation cost on AIMCP?
+
AIMCP uses credits. The cost depends on the model, duration and resolution, and the generator shows it before you submit. Credit packs and plans are listed on the pricing page.
Are Claude’s HTML or SVG animations the same as AI video?
+
No. Code animations are drawn shapes and text that run in a browser. AI video models generate realistic or stylized footage as a video file. Both are useful; they solve different problems.
